Strategic Maintenance Planning (Fleet)

The Strategic Maintenance Planning section is the overview and maintenance programming hub of myData.

This section gives a snapshot of all work tickets, inspections and the Scheduler that covers plant, vehicle, and equipment as well as being the main area for design and creation of customized reports.

It should be noted that each user of myData has the ability to customize the layout of each reporting section.

By doing so, information that is searched for frequently will show up in a manner that is most suitable for that user.

Maintenance activities may fall into any of the following broad categories:

  • Preventative Maintenance – is carried out based on expert analysis of each part. Rather than simply conducting inspections of every maintenance issue at one time, this approach allows each part to be inspected separately and have a maintenance plan drawn up accordingly.
  • Scheduled maintenance – In many cases, repair work will be undertaken after a set period of time, with core parts replaced in order to prevent wear and tear. The core feature that sets this work apart is the element of timing – inspections and maintenance work is carried out according to a predetermined calendar to avoid issues from arising in the first place.
  • Unplanned maintenance – unscheduled reactive work performed on the asset.

A fleet specific Preventative Maintenance Program tool with supporting reports has been implemented in myData.

It leverages the standard Strategic Maintenance Planning functionality in that it uses the same maintenance configuration and work ticketing as other asset categories.

The overall program is managed by a separate process detailed in the Preventative Maintenance (Fleet) section.

As fleet preventative maintenance is dependent on the Strategic Maintenance Planning - Fleet functionality.

Refer to this section for additional details on configuring maintenance planning and work tickets.

Note: It is important to note that for Fleet the "Programmed Maintenance" functionality in Strategic Maintenance Planning is not used, instead use the more specific and featured Preventative Maintenance (Fleet) program to create preventative maintenance programs.
